Mauri Ora - Breath of life
Mauri Ora - Breath of Life, is a new art exhibition currently being developed by JamiesArt. The exhibition presents a unique convergence of cultures, philosophies, and science that explore the theme of universal creation. Mauri Ora reveals the essence of our identity and provides a framework through which we can fully realise our creative potential.
Presented as an indigenous metaphor (the formation of Ranginui - Sky Father and Papatuanuku - Earth Mother) in accordance to the traditional beliefs of the Maori people of Aotearoa/New Zealand - Mauri Ora is a cutting edge model that will help us to engineer a process where the universal laws of creation can be integrated into our daily lives for our own personal benefit, and that of our collective cultures and societies.
"It's all about awakening our creative potential!"
The Mauri Ora exhibition is due to launch in March of 2012 as part of the opening of the new Whakatane Library and Exhibition Centre.
Mauri Ora Workshops - Visioning for a better world
An integral part of the Mauri Ora exhibition includes the delivery of a complimentary series of workshops. The Mauri Ora workshops guide individuals through a visioning process while exposing the universal principles of creation in a way that can be applied within our daily lives. The workshops are designed to awaken the conscious creator within each of us to create a better world.
With the support of Creative Communities Whakatane and Eastbay REAP, JamiesArt has developed the workshops delivering them to 'at-risk' youth within the Eastern Bay of Plenty throughout 2011. They are currently being offered to schools in the Bay of Plenty and will accompany the touring Mauri Ora exhibition.
